Trains panoramiques legendaires

The GoldenPass Panoramique, the Glacier Express and the Bernina Express: three legendary trains with large windows offering dreamy views of mountains and breathtaking cliffs, lakes, forests and authentic villages along the way. The route takes you from Lake Geneva to the Pre-Alps, from the Valais with its glaciers and vineyards to the most beautiful spots in Graubünden.

Day 1 / The Golden Pass / Brig

Arriving in Montreux mid-morning, you board the GoldenPass Panoramique train. This line forms a link between two worlds: that of French-speaking Switzerland with its vineyards and Lake Geneva looking towards France, and that of the Bernese Oberland with its living traditions. Lunch and a leisurely stroll through the exclusive resort of Gstaad. Magnificent route over the Col des Mosses. Along the Rhone Valley. Half-board in Brig, the charming capital of the Upper Valais.

2nd day / 80 km, Brig / excursion to Zermatt

Departure for Täsch. By shuttle train, you reach Zermatt, the famous resort at the foot of the Matterhorn, arguably one of the most famous mountains in the world. This car-free holiday village has retained its authentic character. Free time to explore and lunch. You can take the cogwheel train up to the Gornergrat (panoramic platform at 3,131 m) or the cable car up to the Klein Matterhorn. At the end of the afternoon, take the shuttle bus back to the car park in Täsch. Dinner and accommodation as on the previous day.

3rd day / 240 km, the Glacier Express: Brig - St-Moritz/region

You take your seat on the legendary Glacier Express, for a journey through the Alps via numerous tunnels and bridges. The train climbs the Goms valley and crosses the Furka massif. From Andermatt, the ascent to the Oberalp Pass (2,033 m) begins. Lunch on the train. Via the spectacular Rhine Gorge and the Albula section with its viaducts and spiral bridges, you reach St. Moritz. Half-board accommodation in the region.

4th day / 200 km, the Bernina Express: St-Moritz - Tirano - Chur (Coire)

Discover one of the most beautiful partial routes of the Bernina-Express, from St. Moritz to Tirano, crossing the 2,254-metre-high Bernina Pass before descending to Poschiavo and Valtellina in Italy. The Bernina Pass is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Lunch in Tirano. Back on the road by coach to St. Moritz and Chur, the historic capital of Graubünden. Guided tour of the old town, its narrow streets and pretty squares adorned with fountains. Dinner and overnight stay in Chur or the surrounding area.

5th day / Departure from Chur
